Need a statement scoped to your own units? Pick a fleet service and mention 'diversion statement' in the message.
Cumulative to the end of Q3 2026: 418,000 containers diverted, 11,240 tons of HDPE kept in service, 29,600 tons of CO₂e avoided, 74 million gallons of process water saved, 0 tons landfilled. Counts and weights come from yard scale tickets and intake manifests. The CO₂e figure is a modelled avoided-emission estimate with a published method and a stated range — treat it accordingly.
The trend, not just the total
Intake grew; the reuse share grew faster. The fabrication shop opened in 2019 and you can see it in the recycle column.
| Year | Units in | Reused | Recycled | Landfilled | Note |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2014 | 9,400 | 71% | 27% | 2% | Last year with any landfill |
| 2016 | 16,200 | 78% | 22% | 0% | Closed-loop wash line commissioned |
| 2018 | 24,800 | 81% | 19% | 0% | Rebottling bench added |
| 2020 | 31,500 | 86% | 14% | 0% | Fabrication shop first full year |
| 2022 | 44,100 | 90% | 10% | 0% | Second-look review formalised |
| 2024 | 58,700 | 92% | 8% | 0% | Steel pallet recovery added |
| 2025 | 66,300 | 93% | 7% | 0% | Current operating level |
“Reused” = returned to service as a container, rebottled, sold cage-only or fabricated into a product. “Recycled” = material recovery into regrind, steel scrap, mulch or fuel.

How each figure is produced
- Unit counts
- Intake manifests, reconciled to outbound invoices
- Tonnage
- Yard scale tickets, weighbridge
- Disposition split
- Routing log per serial number
- CO₂e
- Modelled; method published
- Water
- Make-up water meter, washed units only
- Landfill
- Absence of disposal invoices — auditable
What we do not count
- Our own forklift, boiler and building emissions — those are a cost, not a credit
- Freight emissions on inbound or outbound loads
- Downstream use-phase emissions of anything we sell
- Purchased offsets of any kind
- Avoided emissions from units we did not handle
The published figure is avoided emissions from displaced manufacturing, gross of our own operating footprint. We are not carbon neutral and do not claim to be.
Data questions
Who audits these figures?
They are reconciled internally every quarter against yard scale tickets, intake manifests and outbound invoices by someone who does not work in operations, and reviewed annually by our external accountants as part of inventory verification. They are not third-party assured to a standard like ISO 14064, and we do not claim they are. If you need assured figures for a regulated disclosure, tell us and we will tell you which of these you can use and which you cannot.
Why do you publish a range for CO₂e rather than one number?
Because the honest answer is a range. The avoided emission depends on what a unit displaced — a new tote, a recycled one, or nothing at all — and on the grid intensity where the displaced manufacturing would have happened. We publish the midpoint, state the range, and show the method so you can pick your own point in it.
What is the water figure measuring?
Process water saved against a hypothetical single-pass wash line, which is the realistic counterfactual: 40 gallons per tote fresh against our under-9 gallons of make-up water, multiplied by units washed. It is an avoided-use figure, not a reduction against our own history, and it only counts washed units rather than all intake.
Can I quote these numbers in my own report?
The diversion, tonnage and reuse-split figures, yes — they are counts and weights and they are solid. The CO₂e figure should be quoted with its range and a reference to our method, not as a point estimate. Fleet programme customers receive a statement scoped to their own units, which is what you actually want in a supplier-specific disclosure.
Where every number on this site comes from
| Figure | Source | Frequency | Assurance level |
|---|---|---|---|
| Containers diverted | Intake manifests reconciled to outbound invoices | Quarterly | Internal, reviewed outside operations |
| Tonnage of HDPE and steel | Weighbridge scale tickets | Per load | Hard measurement |
| Disposition split | Routing log, per serial number | Continuous | Hard record |
| Reuse-to-recycle ratio | Derived from the routing log | Weekly on the board | Hard record |
| CO₂e avoided | Modelled from the routing log and published factors | Quarterly | Modelled, with a stated range |
| Process water saved | Make-up water meter, washed units only | Weekly | Hard measurement, counterfactual assumed |
| Landfill tonnage | Absence of disposal invoices in accounts payable | Continuous | Auditable by absence |
| Wash cycle parameters | In-line probes and calibrated pH meter | Per unit | Hard measurement |
Three of those are measurements, four are records and one is a model. We label them differently because they deserve different weight in your own reporting.
Twelve years, with what drove each move
| Year | Units in | Reused | Recycled | Landfilled | What changed |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2014 | 9,400 | 71% | 27% | 2% | Last year with any landfill |
| 2015 | 12,100 | 74% | 26% | 0% | First fleet buyback programme |
| 2016 | 16,200 | 78% | 22% | 0% | Closed-loop caustic wash line commissioned |
| 2017 | 20,400 | 79% | 21% | 0% | — |
| 2018 | 24,800 | 81% | 19% | 0% | Rebottling bench added |
| 2019 | 27,900 | 84% | 16% | 0% | Fabrication shop opened |
| 2020 | 31,500 | 86% | 14% | 0% | Fabrication first full year; difficult trading year |
| 2021 | 37,200 | 88% | 12% | 0% | Stainless matchmaking started |
| 2022 | 44,100 | 90% | 10% | 0% | Second-look review formalised |
| 2023 | 51,800 | 91% | 9% | 0% | Quarterly diversion statements introduced |
| 2024 | 58,700 | 92% | 8% | 0% | Steel pallet base separation |
| 2025 | 66,300 | 93% | 7% | 0% | Current operating level |
Intake grew sevenfold while the reuse share rose 22 points. The second of those is the number we manage; the first is a consequence.

What we deliberately do not count
- Our own forklift, boiler and building emissions as a credit — they are a cost, and they are inside the reconditioned figure.
- Freight emissions, inbound or outbound. They depend on where you are and would make the figure less comparable.
- Downstream use-phase emissions of anything we sell.
- Purchased offsets of any kind. We buy none.
- Avoided emissions from units we did not handle.
- Any claim of carbon neutrality or net zero.
Detailed questions
Who audits these figures?
Reconciled internally every quarter against yard scale tickets, intake manifests and outbound invoices by someone who does not work in operations, and reviewed annually by our external accountants as part of inventory verification. They are not third-party assured to ISO 14064 and we do not claim they are.
Why publish a range for CO₂e rather than a single number?
Because the honest answer is a range. The avoided emission depends on what a unit displaced and on the grid intensity where that manufacturing would have happened. We publish the midpoint, state the range, and show the method so you can pick your own point in it.
What exactly is the water figure measuring?
Process water saved against a hypothetical single-pass wash line, which is the realistic counterfactual: 40 gallons per tote fresh against our under-9 gallons of make-up water, multiplied by units washed. It is an avoided-use figure, not a reduction against our own history, and it counts washed units only.
Can I quote these in my own report?
The diversion, tonnage and reuse-split figures, yes — they are counts and weights. The CO₂e should carry its range and a reference to the method. Programme customers get a statement scoped to their own serials, which is what a supplier-specific disclosure actually needs.
Why did 2020 look unusual?
Food and beverage demand collapsed for five months while agricultural demand held. Intake rose to 31,500 even as revenue fell, because plants shutting down generated enormous volumes of empties and we had the only routes already running. The reuse share still improved, which told us the process was sound even when the market was not.
Has a figure ever gone backwards?
The CO₂e per unit, twice, after customer challenges to the substitution rate and the end-of-life credit method. Both revisions are in the current workbook. The disposition figures have moved in one direction, which is a consequence of the routing rules rather than of effort.
How do you verify zero landfill?
By absence. Landfill costs money and leaves a paper trail — a disposal invoice, a weight ticket, a hauler contract. Our accounts payable contain none since 2014, and that is a materially easier thing for an auditor to confirm than any positive claim about where material went. Ask and we will open the vendor ledger.
