Work on
the yard.
This form is for container enquiries. To apply for a role, email the main mailbox with the job title in the subject line — details below.
Five open roles, pay bands published, applications by email only. Send a note to hello@ibctotemarket.com with the job title in the subject line. We reply to everyone, including no, usually within a week. Thirty-four people, twenty-three of them on the yard or the line.
Container Grader
$23 – $29 / hr · Full time · day shift
Run the 27-point inspection on incoming containers, transcribe prior contents from data plates, photograph and route every unit. You will be paired with a senior grader for about four months before working alone. The job is mostly standing on a covered concrete pad in whatever weather St. Louis is having, looking very closely at plastic.
- Willingness to say no when there is an order waiting
- Comfortable on your feet all day, outdoors-adjacent
- Able to write a clear sentence — you will be writing records all day
- No sales target, ever, by design
Wash-Line Operator
$21 – $26 / hr · Full time · two shifts
Select and run cycles by residue class, control caustic concentration and temperature, maintain the three-stage separator, verify final rinse pH on a calibrated meter, and generate the wash certificates that customers' auditors read. Wet, hot, loud, and genuinely technical.
- Comfortable with caustic chemistry and the PPE it requires
- Methodical about logging — the certificate is the product
- Mechanical aptitude for pumps, separators and spray heads
- Industrial or food-plant background helpful, not required
Fabricator / Welder
$26 – $34 / hr · Full time · day shift
Heated-blade cutting on a jig, bulkhead fitting, manifold plumbing, MIG welding in reclaimed cage tube, and TIG plus passivation on stainless. Also: looking at a customer's sketch and working out what they actually need. The most varied job in the building.
- MIG competent; TIG on stainless strongly preferred
- Able to work from a sketch and produce a dimensioned drawing
- Interest in the problem, not just the weld
- Fabrication or farm-shop background both work
CDL Driver, Class A
$29 – $36 / hr · Full time · regional, home daily
Short-haul and regional collections and deliveries within roughly 400 miles of St. Louis. Mostly backhaul routing — out with reconditioned units, back with empties. You will load and secure your own freight, which means interlocking cages and using load bars properly.
- Class A, clean record, 2+ years
- Forklift certified or willing to be certified
- Home daily; no overnight runs as standard
- Able to decline an unsafe load without a conversation about it
Yard Operator / Forklift
$20 – $25 / hr · Full time · day shift
Intake staging, weighing, load building, securement and outbound dispatch. Four-way picks all day in a yard with a lot of traffic. The person who decides whether 48 empties go on the trailer properly or arrive on their side.
- Forklift experience, 5,000 lb class minimum
- Awareness in a busy yard — this is the safety-critical part
- Reliable timekeeping; the dispatch window is real
- Will be trained on securement to our standard
The terms, plainly
No equity, no ping-pong table, no unlimited leave that nobody takes.
- Pay inside the published band, with where and why stated in writing
- Health, dental and vision from day 31
- 401(k) with a 4% match from month six
- Twelve days paid leave rising to twenty at three years, plus eight holidays
- Boots and PPE supplied, not reimbursed
- Overtime paid at time and a half, and it is voluntary except at seasonal peak
- Day shift means day shift — the yard closes at five and at three on Friday

Hiring questions
Why do you publish pay bands?
Because not publishing them wastes everybody's time and advantages whoever negotiates hardest rather than whoever does the job best. The band is real: we hire within it based on experience, and we tell you where in it you have landed and why.
What is the work actually like?
Physical, in a building that is wet and loud in the middle and cold at the edges in January. The pad is covered but open. The wash line is hot. The yard is outdoors. It is also an operation where the person doing the work decides the outcome — a grader's judgement is the product — which is rarer than it should be.
Do you hire without industry experience?
Regularly. Graders come from food plants, farms, machine shops and warehouses more often than from container reconditioning, because almost nobody has container reconditioning experience. What does not train is a willingness to be stubborn about a grade when somebody wants a different answer.
How do I apply?
Email, like everything else here. Send a note to the main mailbox with the role in the subject line. Tell us what you have done and what you want to do; a CV helps but a clear paragraph helps more. We reply to everyone, including no, usually within a week.
