Short answer

4 Colorado markets served from St. Louis, on a monthly lane. Brewing, agriculture and construction water, at the far edge of our economic range. Truckload or a closer supplier — we will tell you which. Nearest market Colorado Springs at 840 road miles; furthest Greeley at 880. Shared freight on 24+ units; quoted against current routing

What drives container demand in Colorado

Colorado is the western limit of where we can serve honestly. At 850 miles, LTL freight on a small order will approach or exceed the value of the goods, and there are competent suppliers much closer. We say so, because a customer who discovers that on the invoice is not a customer again.

Where we genuinely add value here is volume and scarce formats. A truckload of forty-eight units brings per-unit freight down to a level that competes with anything, and documented food-grade or matched 330 gallon stock is harder to source on the Front Range than ordinary technical-grade units.

The brewing cluster along the Front Range is the single most interesting market in the state for us — the familiar four-grade conversation, and one where getting the specification right saves real money on a first order.

Industries we supply here

  • Brewing and beverage
  • Irrigated agriculture and livestock
  • Construction and municipal water
  • Oil and gas field services
  • Food manufacture
  • Cannabis and controlled-environment growing

Freight into Colorado

Indicative per-unit freight on empty 275 gallon totes, computed at this state's average 855 road miles. Your own city page carries its own numbers, because the spread between Colorado Springs and Greeley is larger than a state-wide figure can usefully express.

Diesel-sensitive and indicative. The shape of the curve is reliable; the absolute numbers move with fuel. Note that forty-eight units costs roughly a sixth per unit of what one unit costs — consolidating is worth more than any discount we could offer.

Climate and handling notes

Both failure modes apply. Plan for 10% winter headspace and fit a UV sleeve on anything that lives outside more than one season.

Beyond that, the two things that actually kill containers in service are the same everywhere: standing water under the base frame, which corrodes galvanised tube from the underside where nobody looks, and forklift strikes to the lower cage rails. Get units off wet ground — a pair of reclaimed pallets costs nothing and adds years to a frame. See safety and stacking.

Colorado questions

How long does delivery to Colorado take?

3 – 4 business days to Colorado Springs at 840 road miles, and 4 – 5 business days to Greeley at 880 miles. Those are LTL transit figures after pick-up; add one to three business days for grading, washing and staging depending on the grade you order. Food-grade and rebottled units take longer because they are built to order rather than pulled from stock.

Will you collect empty totes from Colorado?

Yes. Shared freight on 24+ units; quoted against current routing Our trucks run a monthly lane into Colorado, and because they would otherwise return to St. Louis empty, a collection on the return leg costs us the deviation and the loading time and almost nothing else. Stack four high with cages interlocked, drain and cap the valves, and keep food-history units separate from chemical-history ones — mixed stacks get graded down, which costs you money.

What grade do most Colorado buyers actually need?

Brewing, agriculture and construction water, at the far edge of our economic range. Truckload or a closer supplier — we will tell you which. In practice about a third of the enquiries we receive from any state are specified wrong, and roughly two in three of those are overspecified. Leave the grade field blank on the form and describe the product instead — the answer is usually cheaper than people expect.

Do I pay more for freight to Colorado than someone closer to the yard?

The goods cost the same everywhere — grade bands do not move by geography. Freight does, and so do accessorials: liftgate ($95–$140), limited access for a farm or site ($75–$110) and residential delivery ($85–$120). We ask about your dock and forklift up front so those appear in the quote rather than on the invoice.

What about winter and sun damage in Colorado?

Both failure modes apply. Plan for 10% winter headspace and fit a UV sleeve on anything that lives outside more than one season.

Quoting Colorado delivered, not ex-yard

Send a postal code, a quantity and whether you have a forklift. That is enough for a number that will match the invoice.
